Burlington man accused of possessing 50 ecstasy pills

Authorities have accused a Burlington, Iowa, man of possessing more than 50 Ecstasy pills and domestic abuse.

Antonio Brown, 24, has been charged with a controlled-substance violation, domestic abuse, and failure to affix a drug stamp.

According to the affidavit, officers were dispatched to 2864 Triple Crown Lane after hearing reports of a man and a woman fighting. When authorities arrived, the woman reportedly told them the residence was her sister’s, and Brown had punched her numerous times.

The affidavit claims Brown and the woman had been in a relationship for five years and have lived together for the last year.

After the altercation, authorities allegedly found 51 pills of Ecstasy weighing 10.5 grams. Brown also had an outstanding warrant. The affidavit also states Brown claimed he purchased the drugs from a stranger on a bus.

A controlled-substance violation is a Class-B felony; failure to affix a drug stamp is a Class-D felony.
