On Wednesday night, students, faculty, and Iowa City workers gathered at the Iowa Memorial Union to discuss the recent development that The University of Iowa decided to close its Labor Center. Founded in 1951, the center has conducted education classes on workplace rights for students, faculty, and Iowa City workers. A hearing will take place on September 10 where advocates of the Labor Center can explain to UI officials how vital the center is.
