Authorities suspect some Iowa City residents of causing injury in a riot.

Three of the six group members are suspected of willful injury, assault with intent to inflict injury, and participating in a riot occurring on Dec. 4, 2017.

The suspects are: Daivon Jones, 18, 328 Bjaysville Lane; Dimione Walker, 24, 1100 Arthur St.; and Victor Jones, 18, 1311 Sandusky Drive.

According to the affidavit, Jones and five others assaulted a
victim at the victim’s residence.

The group kicked and hit the victim, the affidavit said, which the victim later said caused pain.

One group member fired a gun at the victim, the affidavit said, and a shell casting was found at the scene.

Video surveillance showed the six group members fleeing the scene after the assault occurred, the affidavit said.

The group was blocking the road, the affidavit said, so a witness could not drive away from the incident.

Five of the group members, identified by the witness, were taken into custody, the affidavit said, and the sixth was identified by video footage.

Willful injury is a Class-D felony.
