At 3:30 a.m. Jan. 20, the University of Iowa community received a Hawk Alert warning of an attempted sexual assault in central Iowa City.

The attempted assault occurred near the intersection of Clinton and Court Streets, the alert said. A 7:18 a.m. update said the suspect is described as a 5-9, 5-10 black male with a buzz cut, approximately 21-25 years old, wearing a navy blue or black North Face jacket.

The Iowa City police are investigating the incident; they request anyone with information to call 319-356-5275.
