Iowa football player Brandon Snyder was arrested early Sunday morning near Kinnick Stadium after being pulled over on suspicions of drunk driving.

Snyder, 22, was arrested at 3:04 a.m. at Melrose and Hawkins and charged with an OWI.

According to the Iowa City police criminal complaint, Snyder was driving recklessly and showed signs of intoxication including impaired speech and the presence of an alcoholic odor. Snyder was wearing bar bracelets and admitted to drinking.

Snyder failed the field sobriety test and blew a .163, more than twice the legal limit.

The junior missed nearly all of the season this year with multiple ACL injuries.

He faces one count of drunk driving, which is a serious misdemeanor.
