The Iowa football team will pack its bags and head east for the final game of the season.

Officials announced Sunday afternoon that the Hawkeyes will take on Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 27.

Many observers expected Iowa to end up in Nashville, but Wisconsin’s loss to Ohio State on Dec. 2 knocked the Big Ten team out of the College Football Playoff and bumped the 7-5 Iowa team down the list of choices for other bowl-game officials.

It is Iowa’s fifth-straight bowl game appearance and the 15th under Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz.

Ferentz and Iowa Athletics Director Gary Barta will hold a press conference Sunday afternoon.
