Authorities have accused a North Liberty man of robbery.

Beauhanan Walker, 33, was charged Nov. 8 with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a felon, and felony escape from custody.

According to an arrest affidavit, Walker knocked on a woman’s door on Nov. 8, pointed a gun at her head, and entered the apartment. While he searched for valuables, the affidavit said, Walker told the woman to lie face down on the bed.

Walker took $40 and bolted from the apartment, the affidavit said.

After his arrest on robbery and burglary charges, the affidavit said, Walker was taken to the Johnson County Jail, and he ran from the officer who had custody of him and could not be immediately located.

A search warrant was later placed on Walker’s residence, the affidavit said, and officers found a rifle under a mattress.

Walker was previously convicted of a felony in Cook County, Illinois, in 2005, the affidavit said.

First-degree robbery and first-degree burglary are Class-B felonies. Dominion/control of a firearm/offensive weapon by a felon and felony escape from custody are Class-D felonies.
