Adam Hamlin, 38, 504 Mineral Point Lane, was charged Oct. 17 with domestic abuse/assault impeding air/blood flow.

According to the arrest affidavit, a woman reported that Hamlin, her husband, punched and kicked her in the head numerous times and choked her, resulting in her not being able to breathe to scream for help. The woman told officers she believed at one point she was going to die, the affidavit said.

Deputies took the woman to a hospital, the affidavit said, and other officers found Hamlin. Hamlin had scratches on his arm, the affidavit said, and he admitted to the assault.

Hamlin has a previous conviction of assault this year against his wife, the affidavit said.

Domestic abuse-assault impeding air/blood flow is a Class-D felony.
