Jason Shuchert of Coralville speaks with Iowa 2nd Congressional District candidate Chris Peters in the Hamburg Inn on Sunday. Schuchert, who voted for Peters in 2016, when he was defeated by Rep. Dave Loebsack, says he supports Peters because he hopes for an approach to governing that breaks from “pure party think.” (Nick Rohlman/The Daily Iowan)

U.S. congressional hopeful Chris Peters spoke to supporters and potential voters at the Hamburg Inn, 214 N. Linn St., on Sunday. Peters announced his second bid for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District on July 23. He hopes to unseat Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, in the 2018 election.
