Rutgers head coach Chris Ash speaks to members of the media at the Big Ten media days to discuss the 2017-18 season.
  • “Obviously, 2016 wasn’t a great season … It was awful.”
  • “We are a very committed football team right now, a very invested football team right now.”
  • Has a new facility opening on August 6. Thinks it will be one of the best in the country.
  • Brought in nine transfers. “Those guys are bringing excitement … It’s a completely different football team.”
  • “As the first year as a head coach, you learn so much.” Learned he can’t do everything and to trust the staff.
  • “History doesn’t determine what your future successes or failures are.”
  • Has a very experienced secondary (64 starts). Said it’s a strength of the program.
  • “The Big Ten East right now, I think is one of the best divisions in college football.”
