A University of Iowa Police Department vehicle is pictured.

A crime alert was sent out this afternoon after University of Iowa Police received a call regarding a UI employee after she discovered a man trying to remove a bumper sticker from her car in the Melrose Avenue Parking Facility (Hospital Ramp 4).

The UI employee tried to intervene, but the suspect displayed a knife and the employee then fled and called police. The police checked the area but the suspect was not located.

The crime alert said the victim described the suspect as a white male in his late 20s with blonde hair and a longer goatee. He was wearing a white ball cap, a light blue short-sleeved shirt, and khaki shorts with pockets.

The matter remains under investigation. If you have any information, contact UI Police at 335-5022.
