The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a report on Feb. 16 of an unidentified woman from the Iowa River south of Hills Access, according to an email from Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek.

With assistance from the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the State of Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations Laboratory, initial investigations found that the body was identified as 30-year-old Darling Yosseli Acosta Rivera from Iowa City, according to the email.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, according to officials.

Investigation is still ongoing and assistance from the public is requested.
