Reports of clowns sightings have sprung up around the University of Iowa campus this week, but there have been no reports of harm or threats, according to a post on the UI police Facebook page early Tuesday morning.

The post said the police take all reports seriously, and there is no threat to the campus or students at this time.

Reports of clown sightings first began in North Carolina and South Carolina and are now making their way across the country and being shared on social media.

The UI police asks that anyone with information about clowns call 319-335-5022.
