3 Hawks move on in diving

The Iowa men’s and women’s diving teams finished competing at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Wednesday, and three divers on the team will continue their seasons at the NCAA Championships March 24-27.

Senior Addison Boschult and juniors Lydia Lehnert and Calli Head qualified for the NCAA meet later this month on the platform.
The final day at the Zone D Championships was spent solely on the platform, with two divers from Iowa on the women’s side and three on the men’s side.

Head qualified for NCAAs with a seventh-place finish and a score of 529.95. Lehnert placed ninth with a score of 502.90.

Head dove to a 10th-place spot in the preliminaries, and Lehnert was ninth.

Boschult qualified for the finals on platform in fifth place with a score of 370.15 and stayed put in the finals, placing fifth with a score of 716.75.

Senior Andrew Hull and freshman Will Brenner also competed on the men’s platform for the Hawkeyes. Hull was eighth after the preliminaries, qualifying for finals with a score of 343.20. Brenner was 14th with a score of 262.35.

Hull ended the day in 12th place after finals, with a score of 647.40. Brenner was 16th with 514.15 points.
