Every week, the Iowa football team meets with the media to discuss anything and everything. This time around, the 12-0, No. 4 ranked Hawkeyes head to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship with 11-1 Michigan State.

Needless to say, that dominated the discussion.

Cole Fisher, linebacker

On Michigan State and QB Connor Cook, “He throws some really accurate balls, that’s going to be tough — definitely not like what we faced last week.”

On how he feels about where the program is at, “You feel like you put the program in a better place.”

How Iowa has to play against Michigan State, “This is going to be one of those games where mistakes kill you. That’s how we’ve played all year — we’re not one of those teams that can make a bunch of mistakes but still win.”

On having the trophy case full once again, “When I was walking in here one day after dinner, just seeing all four of them lined up kind of puts a smile on your face. It’s definitely extremely satisfying seeing them all there.”

Jordan Canzeri, running back

On the national attention, “We’re not going to think differently because people have been doubting us week in and week out, we do a great job here of pushing out the noise.”

On Michigan State, “We have to play our best football and we expect they’re going to give it there best, so we have to match that.”

On the physical nature of both teams, “When there is this expectation that the other team is going to be tough to run against, it just pushes us.”

C.J. Beathard, quarterback

On Connor Cook, “He’s a good quarterback, he takes care of the ball, I have respect for him and he throws the ball well.”

On Michigan State’s defense: “We have a good game plan going in, coach Ferentz and coach Davis have done a good job all year and we have another good one going in.”
