Emotional support in animals

Emotional+support+in+animals

Animals are allowed in Iowa City housing under very specific circumstances and one University of Iowa student is finding it extremely helpful in her every day life.

“It makes you smile because this one thing in your life is always happy to see you,” Aubry Fryers said.

Fryers got two dogs after a hospital stay. The animals help her cope with the problems she faces every day, such as anxiety, depression and suicidal tendencies.

The two dogs are certified emotional support animals.

“The day that I got permission was probably one of the best days of my life,” she said.
