The Daily Iowan’s Iowa-North Texas predictions

Football reporters Jordan Hansen and Ryan Rodriguez offer their predictions for Iowa’s game with Pittsburgh.

Jordan Hansen, football reporter

What’s Iowa have to do to win this game? It’s pretty simple — just show up. Both of Iowa’s previous two games have been very emotionally charged and they can’t afford a let down in this game. I’ll take Iowa 42-13.

Pick to click: C.J. Beathard. North Texas is allowing over 500-yards per game. Beathard might be in for a big day.

Ryan Rodriguez, football reporter

This game shouldn’t be interesting much past the first half if everything goes the way it should for Iowa.  The Hawks rush out to a big lead early and then sit on it the rest of the game. Prediction: Iowa 35, North Texas 10.

Pick to Click: Jordan Canzeri.  If all goes to Iowa’s liking, today could potentially be a very short day for Jordan Canzeri.  Look for #33 to get in and do his damage early before letting reserves like Derrick Mitchell Jr. get their reps as the game goes on.
